This couple kept their Seminyak elopement sweet and simple. If you ask us, there’s nothing more romantic than slipping away to a dreamy destination with your favourite person. Choosing to do just that for their special day, Amy and Michael tied the knot in an intimate elopement at Bali’s The Samaya Seminyak. Featuring plenty of traditional Balinese touches and a lantern-lit ‘dinner for two’ reception, this couple’s fabulous island celebration made for utterly wonderful memories.
Falling for The Samaya’s convenience and fantastic beachfront location, Amy and Michael knew they’d picked an idyllic spot for saying “I do”. “Going away for our wedding made the whole experience so exciting,” explains Amy. “You don’t just have one special day – we were excited from the moment we left home and it didn’t stop until we got back!” Surfing that romantic holiday high, the two met at the venue’s charming poolside island at sunset for a touching ceremony. Led by two super-cute Balinese flower girls, Amy walked down an aisle carpeted in frangipani flowers to join Michael at the altar and exchange heartfelt vows. “It was amazing being there, just the two of us,” remembers Amy. “Everything felt so stress-free and intimate.”
After making their commitment official, the newlyweds had photos taken on the venue’s beach and returned to an exquisite outdoor reception for two. “The little island where we married was transformed into a private candlelit dinner area,” says Amy. Sharing an indulgent seafood dinner, the couple toasted the occasion under twinkling stars. “We loved every moment of it!” In keeping things beautifully simple, Amy and Michael brought to life a truly magical celebration. “It was exactly what we wanted,” says Amy. “We really wouldn’t have had it any other way.”
